STAY BLACK & LIVE 2025
Austin's Citywide Juneteenth Celebration at Carver Museum ATX

In response to the ongoing global health crisis and endemic violence experienced by Black and Brown people, in 2020—the Carver Museum and Six Square joined forces to create Stay Black and Live, a signature suite of educational, innovative, and jovial programming at the George Washington Carver Museum, Cultural, and Genealogy Center in the Black Cultural District of Austin, Texas.
What started as a livestream has now become a fixture of Austin’s citywide Juneteenth celebrations. This year's programming and music festival runs from June 10 -19, 2025. Kick things off with some of Austin's most inspiring creatives, innovators, and educators at the Free Your Mind Symposium Series, June 10th and 11th, followed by the Stay Black & Live Music Festival and Community Cookout on June 14th. Enjoy Austin’s finest musicians, free BBQ, fun activities that stimulate then activate the left and right brain, a Black vendor market, and more. The Carver wraps up its Juneteenth programming with a community remembrance ceremony on June 19th, a beautiful afternoon of honoring loved ones lost. More details, musical lineup, and information coming soon!

The 2025 Stay Black & Live Citywide Juneteenth Celebration is presented in collaboration with the City of Austin's Office of Arts, Culture, Music, & Entertainment. Free and open to all.
